The Extra Ordinary Child

Who is Kareem?
Kareem is not like any ordinary boy.
He doesn’t enjoy watching the world news.
He doesn’t crack out loudly on silly jokes.
He doesn’t like to wash the dishes or do the laundry.
He doesn’t support any football team.
He doesn’t like loneliness or fame.
He doesn’t like to be the center of everything.
So, who is Kareem?
Kareem is not like any ordinary boy.
He adores coloring and drawing.
He’d love to buy a box and put all of the drawings he did in his free time.
He hugs adorable trees because they make sweet homes to many people and other living creatures.
He never fried an egg or baked potatoes.
But one thing you should know about Kareem.
He is an extremely extraordinary boy.
He has lots of hopes and dreams.
He dreams to live in a perfect world full of happiness and peace.
He would love to take pictures of some kittens that pass around him every day.
So, who is Kareem?
He is not a spoiled kid.
He lives in a city, in a narrow street, in a small box where newspapers are his bed sheets.
He works in a nearby coffee shop.
So, still wondering about Kareem!
Believe me, he is more than you can ever imagine!

Back Then..

It was a time where I sat and waited
It was back then amazing and stable
Back where excitement and curiosity grew
Fainted voices that the wind blew
It blew words with wide smiles
Traveling all distances and crossing miles after miles
Words with enchantment and spells
Where darkness possesses its wizards and dwells
Yet the moon brightened up ways
Showing harmony and painting shadows right there
I tried talking with the wind maybe it will hear me or maybe it will swallow up my words
Instead it made me hear trees and birds
Tweeting and twinkling here and there
Time was like a circle with no sides
Turning happiness into sorrows with nothing to ride
Riding on invisible horses and dancing with pleasant memories
But reality kept whispering and blocking up ways
Telling me to hold my horses and pray..

Into the Field

Sitting on the sideline
Watching life passing by
With every glimpse at the moon
A smile curved and a dream to seep in through

Standing in the middle of the field
Swaying and twirling round and round
Listening to nature’s music conducting its own tunes
Tracing its sweet pure rhythms into my ears
Bursting out these fears
And breathing freedom and peace

Writing under the bright azure sky
Had reminded me how safety leads to love and how love leads to change
Running in between a yellow narrow corridor
Stretched arms are there to take focused aims and add more pains
But happiness grew brighter and larger
The road grew farther yet wider

Hope

There is hope in every good seed you’ve planted
There is hope in every tear you shed.
There is hope in every faithful change you had committed to do.
There is hope in every valuable time you had spent.
so
What is hope?
Is it a rope around your neck?
Is it the change you’ve been waiting for?
Is it the wish you had made on every shooting star?
Is it a prayer you make once you are depressed?
What is it?

Hope is the feathers on every bird you see in the sky flying freely.
Hope is the smiles on every child’s face with traces of love and care.
Hope is the colors you see when no one sees them.
Hope is the sweetest melody you’d hear after every severe storm and bashful war guns.
Hope is the knowledge you gained on every sight you’ve seen and book you had read.
Hope is when silence breaks on every ring of a bell and takes the fear away.
Hope is what keeps an author writing, a painter drawing, a designer designing, a journalist persuading, and a teacher educating.
Hope is when rivers of truth flow and flowers blossom to spring out pleasant smells and dancing butterflies.
So..
Are you still wondering or dreaming.
Or Waiting or chanting..
Or Wishing or praying..
Or Sitting or changing
Or Hoping??

Sweet Words

Sweet words set their wings and flew over the seas
They crossed the mountains and valleys
Fought sunset battles and negativity
Rode azure skies and dance with silver forked clouds

Sweet words landed on a tree
They dressed it up with colors and some ABCs
Gave some advises and hummed deep melodies
Composed lyrical poetry for the birds to whistle
and sang for the world to be free

Sweet words spotted me taking a photo
They flew toward me and wrapped me tightly
I couldn't breathe, I couldn't believe
These words ...these words
Can't be described
Except they are sweet, melodic, and dazzling too!!

The Story Is About..

Here is a story of a young boy
When he was a star standing with joy
He was asked to tell a story
“A story about love, a story about wisdom, a story about a nation..a story”
Said a man from the audience
But the boy just and did not know what to do or say
Thoughts were swinging and sliding on slides
Ideas were flying like eagles in the sky
Then he thought of something
SOMETHING ..
It had blocked his thoughts, his mind, his smile
And he said…

What is a story when you run out of words?
What is a story when you are out of ideas?
What is a story when anger is a wall blocking your thoughts?
What is a story when tears are…

|* cries, cries

“Cry over what?!” said a motivated future thought
Cry over unnecessary fights
Especially when dark is always turned into light
Cry over a frozen screen or torn book..
Cry over forbidden love or a sad look
Cry over a spoiled flower or plant
Or
Over a dead memory buried in the past

|*cries cries

What is a story when the eyes are brimming with tears?
What is a story when reality is just a dream?
What is a story when vampires sucked all the ideas?
What is a story when no lines are attached?
What is it?
Just
What is it?

|*moments of silence..breathe breathe

The audience was amazed and clapped
The young boy’s eyes gazed
And there
A smile was drawn on his face
With a light laugh
